“The LORD is their strength, and He is the saving refuge of His anointed.” (Psalm 28 v 8)
The Spirit invites us
Through the Lord Jesus,
To enter the mystery of the Trinity of mercy.
One God, yet in Three Persons,
Both separately and in unity,
Wanting and willing to shape life for us compassionately.
The Holy Spirit is the Lord,
The Giver of life, revealing the result of such mercy.
“Save Your people and bless Your inheritance.” (Psalm 28 v 9)
The Spirit is residing in us in holiness,
Gifting us an understanding
Of who Jesus is as Saviour.
Yet a Brother dying for us,
Accepting the † of our punishment,
That through forgiveness we are redeemed.
We receive life’s fullness in Jesus, through mercy,
According to the working of the Holy Spirit,
Who makes us His temple, all glory ever be.
“For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are Gods.” (1 Corinthians 6 v 20)
As the Spirit of the Father,
The same Spirit that is in Jesus,
As His Spirit resides in us,
We receive His gifting, His faithfulness
And His every grace and blessing, mercifully.
It is through the Spirit, by mercy being effective,
We claim ‘Jesus is Lord’,
The One we cannot afford to be without!
“How much more of God’s glory will be revealed through the ministry of His Spirit?... the ministry that makes men righteous and acceptable to God.” (2 Corinthians 3 v 8, 9 The Truth)
It is the Spirit who quells our doubt,
For the Spirit is the breath of God,
Commanding understanding, shaping wisdom.
He comes to us by grace, such mercy,
As we embrace the Spirit in faith.
He encourages us to call the Lord God,
‘Abba’, ‘Father’ or most endearingly, ‘Daddy’.
How wondrous is this, truly most marvellous!
We enter the mystery of the Trinity, through mercy.
“Hear the voice of my supplications when I cry to You, when I lift up my hands toward Your holy sanctuary.” (Psalm 28 v 2)
“The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in Him and I am helped; therefore my heart greatly rejoices, and with my song I will praise Him.” (Psalm 28 v 7)
Lord, may my song, and the song of all, who accept the Lord Jesus as our Saviour, and the Holy Spirit as our Sanctifier, be a song of rejoicing in Your kingdom upon earth as established by the Lord Jesus and the kingdom in heaven awaiting us.
Let us sing a song of rejoicing to belong to Your Son and Your Spirit, inhabiting that kingdom on earth where righteousness is gifted us in accordance with Your wishes, will and the commandments offering us life.
As we enter into the mystery of the Trinity of love, reaching out to us through the †of forgiveness, that as a redeemed people, a new creation is made by the Spirit, through Jesus, we should sing a song of rejoicing to offer all praise and thanks for our belonging to You, Eternal Father.
Your Spirit descends upon us to draw up a likeness to the Lord Jesus, our life a reflection of His perfect holiness, that by which dearest Father), You are always glorified, exalted, esteemed and extolled, as our mortality is transformed by the love the Trinity offers us. The redemption won for us by Jesus, turns us into
immortal beings.
We enter the mystery, this mystery according to the power of holy love, a supernatural love, Your breath upon us. May the Spirit, by our love and respect for our Saviour Brother, free us from everything that is evil, all that hinders our worship.
It is love, holy love which will accomplish this, love and Your divine mercy. Mercy accompanies us lovingly throughout our earth bound journey home to heaven, and mercy is a most powerful encouragement, thank You.
Lord, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, You are Life, Light, Wisdom and Truth come to us mercifully, full lovingly. You are the Source, the Purifier when evil assails, the Restorer, the Refiner, the Sustainer, a Lover who is perfect in love and mercy, inviting us to enter the mystery of Your One in Three complete unity.
You are the Healer of all our sinfulness renewing us by the blood of the Lord Jesus offered up for us on a †, Your saving help being ever merciful and bountiful, most beneficial, we bow before You to thank You.
You take us into Your glory by the sacrifice of Jesus, a supernatural event for this is re-presented to us in each and every Holy Eucharist. Salvation, although a completed work of Jesus, this is also an ongoing work of merciful redemption by which we praise, honour and adore You, holy Three, the Trinity of mercy. How very richly blessed we are! Thank You.
May Your love and mercy commit us in all the wisdom and truth shared with us, that we submit our nature to Your righteousness, our conscience quickened, our mind cleansed, our heart fed and nourished, our imagination purified and sanctified by the beauty we see all around us and in human nature, when glorified by mercy to live in all holiness.
Let us ever surrender our will to Your purpose, Your commands, Your requests, Your suggestions, as we learn to adore You selflessly, Your glory our aim and objective, Holy Trinity.
It is as the poet George Herbert said, “Eternity is too short to extol Thee.” By Your mercy, let us begin now, this very day which You have made for our rejoicing, for our gladness, all sadness done away with at the †, by the promise of forgiveness.
Why You should love us so much is a mystery, yet a reality. Breathe upon us Holy Spirit, that we may think what is holy and act upon this, only this, Your power of love extending mercy to us. Move upon us for we have been redeemed at the †of Jesus. Attract us by our Father’s promise to forgive and forget our sinfulness.
Be the new broom which sweeps clean. Guard us, guide us, keep us in all holiness, that Your will is our desire, Your love our way of life, just as it always was for the Lord Jesus. Please help us to spread this love, the Lord Jesus’ Kingdom rule upon earth, as far as You make possible, that more and more people find the joy of life, called to be citizens of heaven one day.
Come, teach us to surrender all aspects of life to You, so You can fill us to overflowing. Possess us mercifully, as You spell out vividly the meaning, means and result of wisdom, truth and love which is holy. All are identifiable as being sourced through Jesus as Lord, Word and Master.
May the godly love and life of the Lord Jesus be ever formed and developed in us. All through a mercy we will learn to share, long to share, endeavour to give. As we live by this mercy, so we desire above all things to honour our Father, by being like our Brother, able to live a life of love fully.
Any areas of our thought, words and deeds that are less than holy because of our neglect, please reform. Re-create, renew, that with our whole heart, mind, spirit, soul and body we will respond to Your power of merciful love.
I ask this grace and favour in the holy name of Jesus. For when I state His name, it is in the sure belief that our Saviour stands beside us, visible, audible and tangible by results, all praise ever be!
Father, Son and Holy Spirit of glory, as we enter the mystery which is that love, Your very mercy held out before us, let us ever venerate You at the †of our redemption, saving us from the destruction evil causes and completes.
For it is as our Father, our Brother, the Deliverer, the Saviour and Holy Spirit the Sanctifier, You come to us, the Three as One “Who crown us with loving kindness and tender mercies...” (Psalm 103 v 4) filling the emptiness of any purposeless life by seeking to find You.
Thank You Lord Jesus, for being the Word of life, offering us Your unified wisdom, counsel of truth, help and merciful healing. All of which give rise to our hope, all for our benefit, all to our blessing. Oh how merciful You always are, our safe stronghold, our confidence.
May our success be the success accomplished, as we enter the mystery of holy love given birth on earth, established here in a heavenly kingdom but with eyes fixed on heaven. For we will work, pray and stand together, a close knit family always moving forwards in seeking to share holiness.
Thank You for enabling this to happen, Lord God, in Your Son, by Your Spirit of love, who always shows us the Light of Jesus shining above us, cutting across all sinfulness. This is the Light of Your reflected glory in which we rejoice, however challenging life is.
We are made to be overcomers, victorious over the world, the flesh and the devil, because as a Trinity, You live in us, amongst us, through us, entirely by Your mercy and the ensuing power of holy love, never to be forgotten, ever to be prized and praised. May we ever strive to do this. How joyous! Amen.
